ISSAC Named Finalist in Local Award

November 17, 2010  |  Posted by Site Manager | Comments Off

ISSAC Corp has been named in the Celebrate Technology-Security & Defense Technology Company of the Year Award program as a finalist.  Although ISSAC Corp did not win the award, being appointed as a finalist highlights the outstanding accomplishments this company has achieved.  Tim Jones, ISSAC Corp President said he is “excited about gaining recognition in the community, and though we are small, we’re very capable.”  Mr. Jones continued, “As all of you that have taken a leap of faith and started a new company from nothing know, success depends on others trusting in your ability to be a successful team member and to provide value to the customer.  We have a couple of companies that have given us that trust and we are proud to be part of their teams.”

  • Lockheed Martin IS&GS gave ISSAC our first opportunity in April 2007 on the Missile Defense National Team, which got the ball rolling for us
  • Boeing put their trust in us in late 2007 and allowed our team to support the GMD program, which we still support today
  • We are also teaming with another small Colorado Springs company, Imprimis, and they also put their trust in our team and our capability

Mr. Jones continued, “Over the past 12 months we have been allowed to join several teams in pursuit of upcoming contracts and I want to thank each of those teams for trusting in ISSAC.”

Boeing-Northrop Grumman announce partners in GMD missile defense contract

By William T. Martin Print Preview

(From release) Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Northrop Grumman Corporation [NYSE: NOC] today announced their comprehensive partner team formed to pursue the competitive development and sustainment contract for future work on the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system for the U.S. Missile Defense Agency.

“Boeing is proud to have partnered with the Missile Defense Agency as prime contractor of GMD for more than a decade, working with more than 170 companies to make GMD an operational reality,” said Greg Hyslop, vice president and general manager, Boeing Strategic Missile & Defense Systems. “The Boeing and Northrop Grumman GMD development and sustainment contract team covers every aspect of the GMD program. Our unmatched experience on GMD enables us to assemble the best team possible for this critical national security capability, and to ensure the lowest cost through our competitive procurement process.”

“Northrop Grumman is excited about the opportunity provided by the GMD competition to expand our relationship with Boeing from GMD teammate to strategic partner, as well as the opportunity to continue leveraging the contributions of our large and small business teammates in the development, deployment and support of this critical capability to protect the United States against attack by ballistic missiles,” said Karen Williams, vice president of Air and Missile Defense Systems for Northrop Grumman’s Information Systems sector.

The GMD partners include:

Alaska Metrology Calibration Services Inc. — Anchorage, Alaska

All Points Logistics Inc. — Titusville, Fla.

Davidson Technologies Inc. — Huntsville

Delta Industrial Services Inc. — Delta Junction, Alaska

DESE Research Inc. — Huntsville

Dynetics Inc. — Huntsville

Harris Corp. — Melbourne, Fla.

ISSAC Corp. — Colorado Springs, Colo

Jeskell Inc. — Seattle

nLogic — Huntsville

Orbital Sciences Corp. — Chandler, Ariz

Oregon Iron Works — Clackamas, Ore.

Penta Research Inc. — Huntsville

Raytheon Missile Systems — Tucson, Ariz.

Trident Group Inc. — Madison, Ala.

Victory Solutions Inc. — Huntsville.

“This team brings together the expertise, skill and innovation of those who built GMD, are committed to its future and can offer the customer the lowest risk and the highest level of support throughout GMD’s life cycle,” said Norm Tew, Boeing vice president and GMD program manager.

“nLogic has supported Boeing on GMD since 2005 and can attest to Boeing’s commitment and partnerships with small businesses, ensuring they are a critical part of the program’s success,” said Tim Thornton, nLogic president and CEO. “We look forward to supporting American warfighters and being part of the program’s continued success.” nLogic, a Huntsville-area small business, currently offers GMD program support in system engineering and integration, modeling and simulation, test and evaluation, and information technology.

The Missile Defense Agency in 2001 selected Boeing to lead the GMD industry team in the development, deployment, integration and testing of the GMD weapon system. Boeing delivered a limited operational capability in 2004 and continues to serve as industry lead for GMD development and deployment. The Boeing-led team also operates and sustains the deployed weapon system while developing and testing innovative technologies to provide greater reliability and meet its customer’s evolving needs and requirements.

An integral element of the Global Ballistic Missile Defense System, GMD also consists of radars, other sensors, command-and-control facilities, communications terminals and a 20,000-mile fiber optic communications network. There are more than 20 operational interceptors at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., and at Fort Greely, Alaska, to defend the United States against long-range ballistic missile threats.
